Hurricane Irma Versus Ascension

Sculpture "Ascension" was definitely tested by Hurricane Irma that recently hit Miami, Florida. Located in front of a corporate building at 1428 Brickell Avenue, the stainless steel sculpture stood still with no single damage while hurricane beats up the infrastructure in Downtown Miami.

Ascension was known to be a part of the Centennial Celebration of the City of Beverly Hills, Arts of Palm. In 2015, the sculpture was shown at Grand Rapids Public Museum for Artprize Seven placing top25 out of 300+ artists in sculpture category. The piece was then brought to Miami for multiple shows in Island Gardens, Miami Seaplanes Base, and Coconut Grove. Earlier this year, the piece was loaned to a corporate office as its new home for the next three years.

Artprize Nine Kicks Off September 20th!

It is that time of the year again! We are back in Grand Rapids Michigan for Artprize Nine. Our venue this year is at the reflection pool front entrance of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. It was a challenge to position a 3000-pound base by the water fountain at the front entrance of the museum. Rain started pouring right after we finished the install. Our team handled the installation process smoothly. Visit 2017 Artprize Nine for more details.

Thanks to our partners: West Shore Services and Cardinal Arts, and of course to the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum's Staff for hosting and coordinating a marvelous venue. Official photos and footage coming soon. Check out our youtube channel for more videos: Stainless Steel Sculptures by Ryan Schmidt
