Now on-view at Bonobo Winery, nestled in the heart of Michigan's scenic Old Mission Peninsula, Tango Rosso Sculpture by American Artist, Ryan T. Schmidt transforms one of the region's most celebrated vineyard destinations into an immersive art experience. Founded by brothers and longtime Traverse City natives Todd and Carter Oosterhouse, Bonobo Winery provides the perfect setting for Schmidt's mirror-polished stainless steel sculpture, where art, nature, and the ever-changing vineyard landscape come together.
As the seasons shift, Tango Rosso continues to evolve with its surroundings, inviting visitors into a dynamic experience of light, reflection, and movement.
Featured on the Cover of Golden Coast Connoisseur
Tango Rosso was featured on the cover of Golden Coast Connoisseur magazine, highlighting the sculpture’s connection to luxury living, craftsmanship, and contemporary design. Publishers Ron and Laura McCollum described the work through the elements of sky, land, and freshwater, capturing how its reflective surfaces interact with light, landscape, and the elegance of natural surroundings.
The Journey of Tango Rosso
Originally created as a centerpiece for the Inaugural Scottsdale Art Week Presented by Ferrari in 2025, Tango Rosso quickly became one of Ryan T. Schmidt’s signature works.
Designed as a “dance of life,” the sculpture was later entered at ArtPrize 2025 on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he also has another piece installed at the Betty Ford Garden. Schmidt has participated in ArtPrize since 2015, with the museum serving as his venue since 2017. Recognized as one of the world’s largest public art events, ArtPrize expects almost 900,000 visitors annually. During the exhibition, Tango Rosso was also featured in an interview with Channel 13 On Your Side.

The sculpture continued its journey to the U.S. Grand Prix Formula 1 with APEX Gallery by Christopher Martin at Circuit of the Americas in Austin. Later, it was installed at the Sculpture Court at Celebration of Fine Art in Scottsdale and Michigan Residential Architects (MIRA) Spring 2026 event, which was curated and hosted by Schmidt at SoulArt Gallery in Downtown Grand Rapids.
